The Ace Hardware preference center did not previously exist and lacked standard functionality customers expect when managing their communications.
I designed a new preference center from the ground up, giving customers clear control over how and where they receive communications. I introduced toggle-based controls to make preferences easy to understand and update at a glance.
Customers can now:
- Subscribe or unsubscribe from specific types of communications
- Choose how they receive rewards, with digital delivery auto-selected to support stakeholder goals
- Opt to receive rewards by mail if preferred
- Enroll in SMS/text messaging directly from the preference center
The redesign balances customer choice with business objectives, increasing clarity, reducing friction, and supporting a shift toward digital-first communications.
I created an interactive prototype that you can view below to clearly communicate functionality and edge cases, ensuring alignment between stakeholders and developers before build.
